Innovation gap in the Western Balkans

This project aims to shed light on the main bottlenecks hampering innovation development in the Western Balkans.

The goal of the analysis is also to identify the technological strengths of Western Balkan countries, highlighting sectors and technologies in which the region has a competitive advantage or the potential to develop more sophisticated capabilities, in comparison to the profiles of EU Member States.

The project will gather insights from public stakeholders involved in defining the innovation strategy for the Western Balkans, along with firms operating in the region.

This project receives funding by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.
