Biography

Baptist Vleeshouwers is Counsel in Bird & Bird’s Competition & EU Law practice, based in Brussels. With a focus on EU and Belgian competition law, he has particular expertise assisting clients during dawn raids and with leniency applications, providing strategic guidance throughout the process.

Representing clients before the Belgian Competition Authority, the European Commission, and Belgian and EU courts, Baptist has a strong track record in successfully navigating complex competition law matters. His in-depth knowledge of sector-specific regulations and trade defence procedures, including anti-subsidy and anti-dumping investigations, further enhances his ability to deliver comprehensive advice to clients.

Baptist is a member of the Brussels bar since 2014, holding a Master’s degree in Law from KU Leuven. He also obtained an LL.M in the European Master of Law and Economics program from Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Universities of Hamburg and Haifa. Fluent in Dutch, English, and French, Baptist also speaks German, Italian, and Arabic.
